1961 saw updated styling touches to the Corvette as it began its journey from the C1 to C2 body style. With new, more aggressive, rear styling, including redesigned bumper and taillights and a fine mesh front grill, the car took a bold new step forward. The ’61 Corvette revealed the boat tail styling that would be the hallmark of the C2 models to be released two-years later. The final year of contrasting paint colors in the body coves of the corvette, this would be the last two-tone Corvette offered until the release of the 25th Anniversary Edition in 1978.
