Nick Dulleck landed an 11-pound, 4-ounce spotted bass in California with his buddy Adam McAndrews on a weekend birthday fishing trip to New Bullards Bar Reservoir. He caught, documented and weighed before releasing an 11-pound, 4-ounce spotted bass on the now famed fishery. The fish measured 24 1/2 inch long with a 20 3/4-inch girth.  Caught on 02/14/2017.

The spotted base was caught on a Dirty Jigs Finesse Football jig with a Yamamoto Double Tail trailer. Pictured here are a couple of Dulleck’s favorited pairings for bass fishing from Dirty Jigs and Yamamoto, although he’s reluctant to give up the exact color for which the record spot fell for obvious reasons.

When fishing clear and deep water, the use of very realistic and detailed soft plastics has become the norm. Dirty Jigs now provides the same option in a jig with their Tour Level Finesse Football Jig. Premium powder coat finishes provide added realism and the skirts come full length, giving you the option to use the full skirt or trim the front to achieve a slim spider-cut profile. Also featuring a 60-degree flat line-eye Mustad Ultra Point 1X Strong Jig Hook with new 4.3 Microsharp Point Technology, the Dirty Jigs Tour Level Finesse Football Jig is a proven performer available at a great price.

The Yamamoto Double Tail Grubs make great jig trailers or they can be added to a Yamamoto Skirt to create your own spider jig color combination. If you’re looking to improve your odds with a spinnerbait, the Yamamoto Double Tail Grubs make for great trailers as well, and allow you to slow down your retrieve by adding a little extra bulk and resistance to your presentation. The added disturbance created by both tails really lets fish hone in on your bait. The soft supple plastic used in all Yamamoto Baits gives the Double Tail Grubs a great action and a realistic feel to lure fish in and make them hold on longer. Available in a wide range of Yamamoto colors, there is a Yamamoto Double Tail Grub perfect for any situation.
